What an abundant island morning we have enjoyed so far.
Waking up to a glorious sunrise (our bodies have finally adjusted to Kauai time) we wandered down to our favourite swimming hole, when we met up with an old island friend. An old brown Lab, I so needed a doggie experience, ah to smell a dogs breath, feel his face on mine, rub his head and feel dog on my skin, it filled my soul.
As we were sharing our doggie tails with his owner, a gentle rain fell, there is nothing quite like an island shower. We kept on with our morning swim, deliciously warm in the ocean while the rain kept falling. In true island rhythm the rain stopped as we left the ocean.
With the abunDANCE of fruit gracing our kitchen table it was an easy choice for breakfast as the Mamey Sapote we had purchased on Wednesday @ the Kapa’a market was talking to us, soft, sweet and decadently creamy “Eat Me” !!!
Out in the sunshine on our ocean front lanai (balcony for the Aussies) we filled our soul, devouring, savouring each splendid mouthful.
Together Jim and I planned our dream orchard, Papaya, Mamey Sapote, Chocolate Sapote, White Sapote, Salak, Sapodilla, Persimmons, Mangos, Limes, Lemons, Apricots, Peaches, Figs, Banana’s, Apples, Jack fruit, Egg fruit, Avocado’s, Custard Apples, Soursop, Pineapples, …………… What would plant in your dream orchard???
What fruitivore’s garden would be complete without the Divine Durian ???
Not only does this spectacular fruit taste like a fruit from the goddess, we are left with the most phenomenal seed ( which we return to the grower)
